ALE Consultants provide a broad array of services to the Energy sector, ranging from high-level system analysis, consulting and training, to LabVIEW and LabVIEW FPGA based system development and implementation. Energy clients have increasingly complicated and nuanced needs that allow the ALE Consultants team to innovate and solve operational, data and testing challenges.
We have completed several very successful projects applying LabVIEW and LabVIEW FPGA to energy applications for Fortune 100 companies. Some of the projects managed were for the customer’s research laboratories, where an observed phenomenon in the field required deeper study and analysis. To study these observations, the customer would simulate conditions from the field.
Our tailored LabVIEW solutions help you complete an array of tasks. LabVIEW is used to take measurements such as liquid and gas flow, temperature, and pressure. LabVIEW also controls equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, chillers, heaters, and valves. LabVIEW Real-Time and/or LabVIEW FPGA are used to control and monitor the safety conditions of the test. For example, if flow drops for too long due to an unexpected drop in pressure or if the apparatus overheats, the test system needs to be shutdown safely. Without our software, your operator would always have to monitor the system as the tests ran. Because the software notifies people if an issue arises or when testing is complete, our software increases efficiency by allowing your staff to work on other tasks.
Other applications can help you take a proprietary design closer to concept and, in some cases, to patentability. Since a design for updating a process has many stages, ALE Consultants’ role has been in the pilot field stage where a pilot scaled field test unit is needed. The unit is flexible enough for your scientists to study the process under various conditions but can meet the stringent safety requirements of a production plant where the unit is installed. The unit also allows for remote access since the unit may be installed offshore or in another country.
Whether coming from fossil fuels or alternatives such as photovoltaic power, the past few years have been tumultuous for the energy market. As a result, automation and robust test & control systems are essential to your line of work. In a fluctuating market, automation can help you beat your competitors and do more with less. ALE Consultants have the know-how to help you in any economic situation.
